Before me stands a rectangle of white, primed and ready. The seduction begins. The white field must be tamed; must be conquered. The paint is applied to achieve movement, texture, scale and balance. And then comes the pause. The canvas is studied and searched until it gives back direction. I struggle to barely open doors, to give the viewer glimpses of images that are almost recognizable, that tantalize, but don’t satisfy. Eventually these images enmesh them in their own private thoughts that begin their journey, their recreated world built of dislodged ambient thoughts.
