Solarplate Etching Workshop with Dan Welden: 7/31 and 8/1
The Solarplate Etching technique was developed by Dan Welden and is a safe alternative to the long traditional etching process. Only sunlight and water are used to develop the image, instead of acid and grounds used in the traditional etching process.
Workshop Description:
The class will focus on exploring this technique that allows the artist to create a range of effects from etching, drawing, lithograph, silkscreen, or photographic effects. It is a modern cutting edge process used by artists that want to experiment and explore printmaking as an expressive, safe technique.
